‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

A Message from Jacqueline

I have found that being focused on God's Word will cause you to be able to live a full and fun-filled life, once you know how to study God's Word and walk in it.

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬  ESV

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

Bible Study – Our Mission/Commission

Matthew 9:36-38 English Standard Version (ESV)

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

The Lord has given us a major mission/commission in life, and that is to “Be a great example of Christ and make disciples.” Christ gave us great examples of how to live and work to bring people into the Kingdom of God. Also, teach others how to grow their ‘FAITH.”

We spend too much time following the ways of the world, and less time following the footsteps and example that Christ laid down for us when He walked on this Earth.

We need to get back to this Call….

Matthew 28:16-20 (ESV)

The Great Commission

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted.18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on Earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

As believers in Christ, we have the authority to do what the Lord asked us to do.  If you think about the list in Matthew 28:16-20, we should be “teaching others to observe all that God have commanded.” This would be to live a Christ-Filled life.

What do people see when you walk into a room?  Do they see a person of character, loving, kind, righteous, evil, gossiper, anger, giving, ungodly, or Godly person?

You have to ask yourself this question and start adapting your life to be the “Christ-Like” example to others. I don’t know about you, but I will turn away and not listen to anyone who is not living by example.  That is why it is important to start living the life that Christ as commissioned us to live.

It is easier to lead someone to Christ when you are living by example. That is why we need to get our house in order and start making disciples of others by living a righteous life.

Once we start getting ourselves together (Studying God’s Word and Living an Upright Life), it will become easier to begin to discipline others.  I am not saying that you must be perfect and ultimately sin free, because no one is perfect.  I am talking about working hard every day to live a life pleasing to the Lord to include asking the Lord to “forgive you when you sin and asking Him to fix your life.”

Disciples means- one who is applying what he/she has learned as a follower of Christ and teaching it others

What areas in your life (Character, Sins, etc.) do you need the Lord to fix?

How can you be an excellent example for others?

Name some people in your life that need Jesus?
